3D effect
Also called pseudo-3D
Fake depth added to bars or pie slices that encodes nothing and makes values harder to read against the axis.
Say it to an AI
Bar chart of parcels delivered per day, Mon–Fri this week, with a takeaway title. Keep the data-ink ratio high: flat bars, three light gridlines with tick labels, no 3D effect, shadows or background fill. One color, since the bars are one series.
How an expert would brief the stronger version of “Daily deliveries chart”.

Try it as a puzzle →Throughput card on the depot dashboard of a regional parcel courier.
Why: B's bars have a pale #93C5FD top and a dark #1E3A8A side, so the Friday bar's top is 10px above where 1,560 actually sits.
