Redundant comment

A comment that restates what the code already says, adding length without adding information.

Say it to an AI

Pandas cell that drops refund rows, dedupes invoices and buckets payments by UTC month. Comment the why, not the what: each comment should state the business reason or data quirk behind the step, with no redundant comments that restate the code.

How an expert would brief the stronger version of “Revenue cleanup”.

See it

Try it as a puzzle →

A notebook cell that cleans raw payment data before a subscription app's monthly revenue report.

Study A · the stronger one
Study B · the weaker one

Why: B's '# Keep rows where amount is greater than 0' sits above 'df[df["amount"] > 0]', which says exactly the same thing.
