Separation of duties

A rule that no single person can both request and approve the same sensitive action.

Say it to an AI

Write a permissions matrix for expense approvals: actions as rows, Employee/Manager/Finance/Admin as columns, and a yes, no or scope in every cell. Enforce separation of duties: nobody approves their own expense, and over $1,000 needs Manager then Finance.

How an expert would brief the stronger version of “Expense approval roles”.

Try it as a puzzle →

A startup's internal expense tool defines who can submit, approve and pay out expenses.

Study A · the weaker one
Study B · the stronger one

Why: B's “Approve own expense: — for everyone” row; A's “Admin can do everything” quietly breaks it.
